EDITED: Admoni – Red or more?

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

EDIT: regarding clarification. I used the wrong term to describe what the Torah may be suggesting. I do not mean insanity plea. The proper phrase should be “pleas regarding uncontrollable factors such as pre-existing medical conditions (tumors on adrenaline gland, perhaps, or anger management problems) or society issues.

Admoni. This word is used to describe only two people in Tanach (Torah, Neviim (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings))

These two people are David haMelech (the king) and Esav (Esau).

But what is the significance?

Maybe the Torah is against the insanity/medical issue plea (aka in court).

Why do I say this?

David haMelech was one of the greatest kings, if not the greatest king, of Judea, yet Esau nearly killed his brother.

Yet they both had the quality of  ”Admoni, ” which our commentators take to mean a sense of  ’red blood,’ a need to kill.

David was able to channel his “Admoni”-ness, Esau was not.  Is this a statement against the insanity plea? I’ll let you decide.

SMS based browsing

My first post on this site relevant to the topic of this blog (randomness).

So I was texting on my phone and for some reason thought about how web browsing on a phone is so expensive.

What if someone wrote an autoresponse program for a certain number (1-800-free-web or something) where you texted that number and wrote the url in the subject field?

Interesting? Read more after the click. (more…)
