SMS based browsing

So I was texting on my phone and for some reason thought about how web browsing on a phone is so expensive.
What if someone wrote an autoresponse program for a certain number (1-800-free-web or something) where you texted that number and wrote the url in the subject field?

Nice if you have unlimited texting and need to look up what color pigeons are and you’re in South Peninsularaqganistan, with no wifi and only cell phones
